Holders of old coins can contribute to creating the National Bank Museum
The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) purchases from the population old coins, banknotes and objects linked with the banking trade. The objects which will arouse interest of the NBM will be purchased for the Museum of the bank after an expertise and estimation.
According to a press release of the central bank, NBM is interested in the money which circulated in Moldova and are in a good condition: ancient coins – Greek (Histria, Callatis, Tomis, Tiras etc), Macedonian (Philip II of Macedon, Alexander the Great, Philip the III, Lisimah etc), Roman (republican, imperial), geto-dacian; medieval – Byzantine, Turk, Moldovan; modern – West-European, of the Russian Empire etc.
Also the bank is looking for the banknotes of the Russian Empire – Romanov, Lvov, Kerenski Russian roubles (1812-1918); 2) Romanian – Romanian Lei in good condition (1920-1940).
Also, NBM accepts cultural objects related to the banking trade (purses, coffers, rare financial documents regarding the activity of the Chisinau Municipal Bank, Bank of Basarabia, Countryfield Bank, credit letters, shares, rent documents etc.); photos which show the banking activity of that period (1864-1990) and the local bank-related personalities, postal cards with the image of the banks starting XIX century.
The holders of such objects are expected at the National Bank of Moldova located on Renasterii Boulevard 7, Cash Operations Department, Exhibition Hall.
