The Road Police has tracked down the driver who fled the scene of a fatal hit-and-run accident occurred during the night from Friday to Saturday on the Centru-Botanica viaduct. According to Chisinau Road Police Inspector Ion Roscovanu, the victim hasn’t been identified yet. The man was about 40 years old, 1.7 meters tall, wore trousers and a black shirt. The driver fled the venue but was tracked down a few hours later. Reportedly he is a man, 43, working as a cab driver at 1411 taxi service company. If the court will find him guilty, he could serve up to 7 years in jail. Over the past 24 hours, 2 traffic accidents with 5 injured persons were registered in Chisinau. Road officers fined 405 drivers, including 21 for drunk-driving.
