Historian Anton Moraru presents book dedicated to Romanian soldiers

“Mysterious Pact – Bessarabia in the Context of the Hitler-Stalin Pact” is the title of a new monograph by Anton Moraru, Habilitated Doctor of Historical Sciences. The author recommends the work as additional alternative material for the history, law and international relations students, Info-Prim Neo reports. The monograph was presented at a roundtable meeting of the Association of Historians held on Friday on the occasion of 70 years of the signing of the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact. According to the author, it is a book dedicated to all the Romanian soldiers and officers who fought for the liberation of Bessarabia, Bucovina and the Herza Region during 1941-1944. “We should study this document and educate the young generation. They must know what the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact meant for Bessarabia,” said historian Ion Negrei, who edited the work. “The book should be read by everyone in our country. Everybody must realize the importance of the 1939 event for our people. It should be distributed among all the schools to be studied. The people must find out what happened in reality,” said historian Demir Dragnev. The monograph has 164 pages and was issued in 200 copies.
