Celebrating the birth of Christ each year, the faithful should think again about the love of God who appeared before them through his Son. Such a message is transmitted by His Holiness Vladimir, Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and all Moldova, before Christmas, IPN reports.

“On this magnificent and holy day, we should intensely meditate on what God did for us and for our salvation, even if we had the occasion of doing this in the preceding fasting period. We should not be lazy from now on and have the Holy Scripture in our homes and read the Word of God so as to find out at what price he redeemed us,” said his Holiness Vladimir.

He also said that 2016 brought holy accomplishments to the Orthodox Church of Moldova. Metropolitan Bishop Gavriil (Banulescu-Bodoni) and Blessed Agafia of the Cuselauca Monastery were made saints. The clergy and the faithful continue to fulfill the Christian mission by the love and support given to the mates, showing thus their love for the Creator.
