Those interested can take part in road trips through Moldova’s Codrii forest on Saturdays and Sundays. The first trip and the launch of the project “Hikes Moldova” were scheduled for November 18 this year. Those who want can register for a hike by Friday of each week. The trips start at the Vatra Complex at 11am, IPN reports.
According to project manager Viorica Moraru, the program will include walks through Moldova’s Codrii - 8 km to and from the spring of Stephan the Great or 16 km to and from the Căpriana Monastery in the company of a professional guide. The participants will be served an ecological meal that will cost 100 lei and different free recreational activities, such as zip-lining, archery and throwing of axes.
The program is intended for everyone - children, grownups, elderly people, regardless of their state of health. The participants in hikes must be outfitted with convenient clothes and footwear and sticks for walking.
Veaceslav Manolachi, rector of the State University of Physical Education and Sport that is the partner of the project, said walking and fresh air are very important for health. In urban areas, the air is very polluted and such hikes can take the person out of the daily routine and bring this one step closer to health.
Cristina Aparatu, executive director of the Vatra Complex, said those who lead a sedentary life can change their views about the lifestyle and can spend the weekend interactively through the agency of this project.
