Higher fiscal pressure makes employers to shift to black economy, employers
The higher fiscal pressure exerted on economic entities makes many of them to shift to the underground economy or to leave the country, said the head of the Transport Employers Vladimir Florea, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a news conference, Vladimir Florea said it is good that the Rod Fund increases every year, but the taxes paid into this fund by different categories of carriers are sometimes unreasonable. “We agreed with the Ministry of Finance that the taxes should be raised as the carriers know what bad roads mean. However, the tax for tractors and large trucks grew ten times, from 100 to 1 000 lei,” he stated.
”The trailers are allowed to carry at most 36 tonnes, according to the passport. In our country, they are allowed to transport 24 tonnes. If the weight is heavier than 24 tonnes, the carrier must pay by 100 lei for every tonne. This means 1 200 lei for the extra 12 tonnes. This sum is paid in addition to the compulsory tax of 3 600 lei for tractors, traitors and other vehicles,” said Vladimir Florea.
According to him, it is impossible to develop the business in such conditions and the carriers will go to Ukraine, Romania or other countries.
In 2011, representatives of the transport employers asked adjusting the passenger transportation fares, but no solutions were found. “They promised that the fares will be reviewed. As the economic entities cannot recover the costs, many of them prefer to transport passengers illegally. More than half of the passengers in busses travel without a ticket. We cannot monitor these busses, which sometimes endanger traffic security,” said Vladimir Florea.
He pleaded for increasing the responsibility of the parties involved in the social dialogue – the Government, employers and trade unions. He said that if problems of major interest cannot be resolved, the negotiations should continue at bilateral level.
