Starting January 1, allowances for children with Romanian citizenship will be by 10.4 percent higher, IPN reports.
The allowances were increased from 719 to 794 RON for children under two years old or with disabilities and from 292 to 323 RON for children over two years old.
According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Romania, almost 3.6 million children, as well as young people attending high schools and vocational schools, will benefit from increased state allowances.
The last time the state child allowances were raised by 13.8 percent in January 2024.
