The monthly allowance for looking after, accompanying and supervising persons with severe disabilities who are confined to bed from among participants in the Chernobyl cleanup will be raised. The MPs adopted a bill to this effect after giving it two readings, IPN reports.
One of the authors of the bill, Socialist MP Vladimir Odnostalco, said the monthly allowance is of 500 lei at present. This will be increased to 80% of the minimum old-age pension that is set annually by the Government.
According to the MP, the allowance will also rise after the minimum old-age pension is indexed.
The bill says 15 persons with severe disabilities confined to bed, who took part in the Chernobyl cleanup, received such allowances in 2020.
