Dozens of slates were damaged as a result of last night’s strong winds, while five settlements in four districts were disconcerted from the power supply, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan has told Info-Prim Neo. A number of settlements in the districts of Anenii Noi, Causeni, Basarabeasca and Cahul remained partially without electricity. Specialized teams of Gas Natural Fenosa are working to restore the power supply. In Tartaul, Cantemir, the high winds damaged the roofs of the local museum and kindergarten. In Romanovca, Leova, the roof of a pavilion situated on the kindergarten’s territory was partially destroyed. The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service warns the population to respect the rules of protection against fire. When there are strong winds, any flammable source can cause fires. On March 16, the State Hydrometeorology Service issued an advisory for high winds of up to 23 m/s.
