600 high-school students will be selected as volunteers to help ninth-grade students take the math final exam. The initiative is part of the national campaign "Mathematics as equals", launched by the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC), IPN reports.
According to Minister Dan Perciun, for many students "mathematics remains a challenge", and through this initiative ninth graders will be guided by their peers.
The 600 volunteers will be selected by the Ministry of Education and Research and the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation. They will be trained by teachers and will have additional sessions in April-May to prepare secondary school graduates for the math exam.
The MEC said that this year, this year's math graduation exam will be checked by external evaluators and the papers will be centrally checked.
The "Mathematics as Equals" campaign is a project that will emphasize mutual support in studies, collaboration and shared responsibility among students.
