The Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Helga Schmid will be visiting Moldova during March 1-2. The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Várhelyi will be in Chisinau during March 2-3, IPN reports.
“During the next few days, we will play host to high-ranking officials who will visit us to show their solidarity and support for the measures we take to manage the risks associated with our country due to the war in Ukraine and, especially, to manage the flow of refugees in our country,” said Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
The officials will have meetings with President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița and Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu to discuss methods of solving the problems generated by the security crisis in the region, the assistance needs and concrete measures of support for building Moldova’s resilience.
Helga Schmid will also meet with representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission that was recently evacuated from Ukraine.
