A series of events involving high-ranking European officials will take place in Chisinau on October 2-5. The ambassadors of the Political and Security Committee (PSC) of the Council of the European Union are expected to come to Moldova on October 2, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
This is the second visit of the PSC ambassadors to Moldova, the first being paid in December 2011. The 28 ambassadors will have meetings with representatives of the senior administration.
The EU’s Political Military Group, which includes representatives of the EU member states responsible for political-military aspects of the Common Security and Defense Policy and the monitoring of EU crisis management missions, will be visiting Chisinau on October 2-4.
Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves will be in Moldova from October 3 until October 5. He will have meetings with President Nicolae Timofti, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and Head of Parliament Igor Corman. He will also take part in a digital security forum and in the National Wine Day. The Estonian head of state will be accompanied by a delegation of businessmen who will have a separate program of the visit.
On October 4-5, Chisinau will host the fifth Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum. The opening will involve Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Gherman, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Štefan Füle, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius, and Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze, who will give a joint news conference.
