Moldova suffered another defeat in the team's second friendly match during the training camp in the UAE. This time, the team lost 1-2 to Sweden, despite scoring first, IPN reports.
Naturalized Brazilian Henrique Luvannor broke the deadlock just before the break. Sheriff's forward placed a spectacular shot from outside the area right into the top corner.
The team coached by Ion Caras conceded twice in the last 13 minutes of the game. Both goals were netted by substitute Erton Fejzullahu who made of the most of two errors in the Moldovan defence, the first being a fluke by goalkeeper Andrian Negai.
“I'm happy to have scored my first goal, but I also want to get the first victory with Moldova. We must work more to win against Poland”, Luvannor said after the match.
“I don't have any complaints about the boys. Unfortunately, fatigue made its mark in the last 15 minutes”, said coach Ion Caras.
On January 20, Moldova will meet Poland in the team's last friendly in the UAE.
