Heavy snowfall disrupts bus services

A number of bus routes have been cancelled owing to the heavy snowfall. The Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure announced that many roads in northern and western Moldova are impassable, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Central Dispatcher’s Office of the Center Bus Terminal, no bus goes to Bucharest as well as to Varnita, Causeni and Rascani, where the drivers cannot go out of the settlements owing to the snow. The morning routes Chisinau-Iasi were also cancelled. Only the transit route Orhei-Chisinau-Suceava set off from the South Bus Terminal at 08.45. According to the latest information that came from the Romanian authorities, the trains Chisinau-Bucharest and Bucharest-Chisinau stayed in Romania’s Focsani for several hours owing to the unfavorable weather conditions. The Chisinau-Bucharest train got to Bucharest at about 10.00, with a delay of three hours. The second train is still in Focsani. It was to arrive in Chisinau at 08.52.
