Two persons in Chisinau died after a strong rain Thursday afternoon. A third was admitted to hospital for recovery after being caught unawares in the street by streams of rainwater. Dr. Silvia Babara of the Chisinau Emergency Service told Info-Prim Neo two pedestrians, a male and a female in their mid 40s, died at around 13:30 drowning in streams of rainwater rolling down on Decebal Blvd. Waters pushed the victims under a car parked nearby, trapping them. When the police and doctors arrived, the woman was already dead, while the man died on the way to hospital. A similar case occurred in downtown. A young woman was knocked down by rainwater, but was rescued by a witness. The woman escaped with head injuries, which are being treaded now in hospital. Police are handling the case to find out details.
