The National Bureau of Statistics suggests amending the Contravention Code and increasing the fines for the refusal to provide and for the late and partial presentation of statistical data, IPN reports.
Thus, the fine imposed on private individuals will be raised from 70 to 100 conventional units. For persons holding responsible posts, this will be increased from 150 to 200 conventional units, while for legal entities – from 300 to 400 conventional units. A conventional unit is equal to 50 lei.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, many of the institutions and enterprises do not fully honor the obligation to present reports for updating the statistical data. This affects the appropriate functioning of the common system of official statistics and makes impossible the observance by Moldova of the commitment to transmit correct statistical data to international organizations on time.
The payment of fine will not free those fined from the obligation to present statistical data.
