Heating season to open in Chisinau
Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca is to issue today an ordinance to start the heating season in the municipality of Chisinau. The decision was made after long discussions held during Monday's meeting of the municipal divisions and services, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Deputy mayor Vlad Cotet said the municipality is ready for the heating season from technical viewpoint. There are only some problems as regards the payment of heating debts by dwellers of apartment buildings, but they could be settled in the near future. In this connection, the head of the Public Amenities Division Petru Gontea said that 210 buildings do not have debts, while about 100 buildings – paid only 60% of the debts. For his part, Termocom commercial director Mihai Arusoi said the company is prepared to turn on the centralized heating system.
According to the heads of Chisinau's districts, some of the apartment building administrators and dwellers said they are ready to endure the coldness in apartments until November 1 so as to save money. At the same time, the head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb and the acting head of the Health Division Luminita Suveica said electric stoves work in education and medical institutions as there is very cold. The temperature in some rooms is 13-14 degrees Celsius. They demanded that the heating be turned on as soon as possible.
Thus, Dorin Chirtoaca decided to issue the ordinance to begin the heating season. The kindergartens, schools, universities and hospitals will be connected to the heat supply until Thursday, October 22, while the apartment buildings – by the end of the week. If the dwellers of a building do not want to be connected yet, the building will be temporally cut off from the heat supply.
For the first time this season, the temperature in radiators will be regulated in a centralized way, deepening on the temperature outside. The manager and supplier of heat will discuss this issue two times a day.
