Heating season preparations for aparment blocks almost complete

The blocks of flats managed by the municipal housing enterprises are 99.5% ready for the heating season. The remaining units are more than 50% ready. The announcement was made by the General Directorate of Housing and Planning (DGLCA) head, Ion Burdiumov, at City Hall’s Monday meeting.

Ion Burdiumov said that on August 22 the tender for the procurement of anti-skid material was held, while today, August 23, the working group will meet in order to designate a contractor that will deliver the material. DGLCA has planned to purchase 800 tons of technical salt in bulk and 300 tons of salt in bags for the 2021-2022 cold season.

The preparation for the cold season is 95% complete. By the end of this month, DGLCA is expected to receive two more tractor units from the company that was awarded the contract.

Over the course of the previous week, daily, 360 people and 17 technical units, including four skid-loaders, were involved in sanitation works. Over the course of a week, more than 170 waste removal runs were carried out. Due to foliage, some streets, such as Zelinski and Mihai Eminescu, require more intensive cleanup operations during this week, said Ion Burdiumov.

Some 40 workers were involved in mowing the grass in the courtyards every day. Over 230 thousand square meters of greenery were mowed in 50 courtyards.

Pest and rodent control measures were carried out in 362 blocks of flats, which accounts for 183 thousand square meters.

DGLCA will shortly submit a sanitation campaign plan for October.
