The apartment buildings in Chisinau will stop to be supplied with heat on March 31, but the nurseries, schools and hospitals will continue to be heated for several more days. The announcement was made in the March 28 ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, IPN reports.
Deputy mayor Vlad Cotet said the heating season is closed when the average daytime temperature is minimum +8 degrees Celsius during three consecutive days and the outlook for the the next few days is warm and sunny. It was agreed that in case of emergencies and if the weather grows colder, the supply of heat will be resumed.
Head of the Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said the nurseries and schools should be supplied with heat this weekend too because it is rather cold in the morning and the children are cold.
The heating season last year ended on April 10.
