Heat suppliers submit assessments for increasing charges to energy regulator

Fifteen national heat suppliers, including SA Termocom, presented the assessments for raising the heat and electric power charges to the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE), Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the ANRE, among the companies that asked increasing the tariffs are the thermoelectric plants CET-1, CET-2, and CET-NORD and the Chisinau heat supplier SA Termocom. They demand raising the charges by 10-70%, depending on the costs incurred in the production process. The Agency is examining the applications and will take a final decision next week, during in a public meeting. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, SA Termocom director Mihail Cernei confirmed that they sent the estimations to the ANRE, but said that the company will make public the proposals concerning the new charge in 2-3 days. “It is now too early to say figures as we don’t know at what price we will purchase heat from CET 1 and CET 2. Their offers should be considered so as to do the final calculations,” he stated. Three fourths of the heat supplied by Termocom to end-users is bought from CET 1 and CET 2 and only one fourth is produced by the company. Two weeks ago, the National Agency for Energy Regulation decided that the gas tariffs for end-users will be increased by 23.2% on average even if the supplier asked raising them by 28.8%.
