In Chisinau municipality, roughly 90% of Termocom's customers receive heat. The only customers without steam service are those with large overdue bills and a few buildings whose residents are not yet willing to receive heat to make economies. Termocom vice director Vasile Leu told the City Hall meeting on Monday that heat is being delivered to all the medical and educational institutions in the municipality without exception. Those without heat include 30 apartment buildings, 100 households in the so-called private sector, and over 200 non-residential customers. Concerning the suburbs, Leu said all the heat generating plants were working normally and providing steam service accordingly. An exception is Colonita, which hasn't been connected yet due to a debt that exceeds half a million lei. Leu said that educational institutions and family doctor centers have the possibility to turn down the thermostat during weekends to make economies. The 2012/13 heating season started on October 25 for medical and educational institutions and on October 29 for residential customers.
