Heat charge in Chisinau up 25%

The heat supplied to consumers in Chisinau will be by 25% more expensive. The National Agency for Energy Regulation approved a charge of 3,577 lei/Gcal, up 723 lei/Gcal, for the heat supplied by SA Termoelectrica, IPN reports.

The Agency said that it adjusted the heat charge in order to ensure the company is financially viability and avoids payment incapacity and is able to continuously supply heat to consumers.

In the same meeting, the Agency also approved the regulated price of electrical energy produced by SA Termoelectrica at 3.93 lei/kWh, down 0.61 lei/kWh or 14% on the current price.

The new prices and charges take effect when they are published in the Official Gazette.
