The heat bill for December in the municipality of Chisinau came without the calculated compensation. Asked by IPN to explain, the deputy head of the Public Amenities Division Gennady Dubița said the regulations on the provision of compensations were approved by the Chisinau Municipal Council on December 22 and it wasn’t enough time until the printing of bills to verify the lists of beneficiaries.
“In each district of the city, there is a commission responsible for the provision of compensations. These commissions are examining the lists, decide on the provision of compensations and transmit the lists to the company that issues the bills for recalculation,” explained Gennady Dubița.
Under the regulations, the families whose monthly earnings for the past 12 months are lower than 3,000 lei a month per person and the young families (younger than 35) with a global monthly income of at most 5,000 lei benefit from a compensation equal to 40% of the value of the heat bill.
The persons who got such compensations the previous season do not need to submit confirmatory applications, while the rest must file a standard application. The compensations are provided for the whole cold season even if the application is submitted at the end of the heating season.
