The hearing where the judgment in the Botnari-Papuc case was to be passed has been put off again. Prosecutor Sergiu Rosu has told Info-Prim Neo that the hearing was postponed because the judge is on sick leave. The decision was to be pronounced on January 18, but that hearing was adjourned at the request of the judge. The reasons haven’t been made public. The prosecutor said they do not yet know on what day and at what hour the next hearing will take place. Ex-minister of the interior Gheorghe Papuc and former general police commissioner Vladimir Botnari are accused of negligence during the April 2009 events, which resulted in the death of Valeriu Boboc. The first court of law – the Centru Court – found them not guilty. Sergiu Rosu said that if the generals are acquitted again, they will go to the Supreme Court of Justice. The Botnari-Papuc case was started in June 2010.
