Healthcare service providers to be contracted based on eligibility criteria

The National Health Insurance Company will sign contracts for the provision of medical assistance services with chosen providers based on eligibility criteria and on the criteria used to contract healthcare services within the mandatory health insurance system.

This is provided in a bill to amend the law on the mandatory health insurance system that was approved by the Parliament’s commission on social protection, health and family on December 15, IPN reports, quoting the legislative body’s press service.

The eligibility criteria will be devised by the Government and will be clear for all the healthcare service providers. This will make the process of signing such contracts more transparent.
