Health Ministry will design mechanism for taking compensated drugs home

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection will soon work out the mechanism for delivering compensated medicines to the homes of patients diagnosed with COVID-19, who are receiving treatment at home, by multi-sector involvement: primary medical assistance and social assistance, IPN quoted acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi as saying after the meeting of the Commission for Exceptional Situations.

Also, the Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance Company will extend the list of compensated drugs intended for the treatment of persons with mild and moderate forms of COVID-19 who are receiving treatment at home. They will get drugs that will be 100% compensated, up from 70% earlier. All the persons will benefit from compensated drugs, including those who do not have a health policy.

In another development, Aureliu Ciocoi said the Commission agreed a number of concessions for the business community. The time limit for implementing the program to subsidize interest rates and the VAT refund program was extended until May 31. “There were also adopted simplified fiscal administration rules that will support the business community in this difficult period. It is very important to create the conditions needed for stimulating the economy of the Republic of Moldova, including during the current state of emergency” stated the official.
