In 2022, the Ministry of Health laid emphasis on the renovation and outfitting of national medical institutions with modern equipment, the Government said in a summing up video.

According to the Ministry of Health, the pool of ambulances of the National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Center was supplemented with 30 ambulances, while the regional public health centers received 15 vehicles bought with European funds and with the assistance of the World Health Organization.

The Cancer Institute receives the second state-of-the-art linear accelerator used in radiotherapy.  Obstetrics Unit No. 1 of the Mother and Child Institute of Chisinau was fully renovated with public funds, as was the Balti Perinatal Center, where a modern perinatal center was set up.  The Emergency Admissions Unit in Balti also started to be reconstructed.

Moreover, owing to the support of Japan, which provided 1 billion Japanese yen in grant funding, five medical institutions - the Emergency Medicine Institute, the National Clinical Hospital “Timofei Moșneaga”, the Mother and Child Institute, the Oncological Institute and Saint Trinity Municipal Clinic Hospital – are being outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment. The modernization of the national vaccine depot is another accomplishment mentioned by the Ministry of Health.

In connection with the energy crisis, national health facilities were equipment with electric generators provided by France. Also, for the first time, the citizens can receive free test strips and lancing devices for monitoring blood sugar levels at any drugstore as the state undertook to cover all the associated costs.

As from October 1, the salaries of medical personnel were raised by 10%, while the pays of employees of public health facilities were increased by 5.5% as from September 1.
