The payment of the health insurance premium in fixed amount (policy) will not be possible through post offices for a period, the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) has said. Owing to technical problems, the health insurance premium can be paid only through the local offices of the CNAM, IPN reports.

The price of the mandatory health insurance policy remained 4,056 lei, as during the last four years. If it is purchased during the first three months of the year, which is by April 1, 2018, the buyers will pay only 50% of the price. Those who cultivate farmland and will buy a policy by the same time limit will benefit from a 75% discount.

The mandatory health insurance premium in fixed amount is paid by persons who do not work and do not form part of the categories insured by the state. Notaries, lawyers, bailiffs and mediators also need to purchase a health policy themselves.

In the case of salary earners, the health insurance premium is paid in the form of percentage contribution from the salary and other remunerations – 4.5% by the employer and 4.5% by the insured person.
