Health insurance policy costs by about 300 lei more

The price of a health insurance policy this year is 2,772 lei, by about 300 lei more than last year. The insurance premium for salary earners remained the same as in 2010 - 7% of the salary, 3.5% of which is paid by the employer and 3.5% by the employee. The obligatory health insurance funds bill was passed by Parliament in final reading on March 31, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The health insurance budget totals 3.67 billion lei, up 7% compared with last year. The insurance premiums add up to overt 1.64 billion lei, while the allocations from the state budget for the persons who are medically insured by the Government – to almost 2 billion lei.
The Communist parliamentary group did not vote in favor of the bill, arguing their proposal to increase the amounts transferred from the state budget to the obligatory health insurance funds was rejected.
