The medico-sanitary institutions of Moldova will work according to the ordinary timetable between December 31, 2007 and January 8, 2008, Info-Prim Neo reports. The number of calls to health institutions is increasing in this period, especially because the gastrointestinal diseases become more severe, a communique from the Ministry of Health says. The ministry and the district, municipal and national healthcare institutions have designated persons that will be in charge of organising the medical assistance in the given period. The preventive medicine centres will make sure that the sanitary-epidemiological rules are observed. The pre-hospital and hospital emergency medical assistance will be provided continuously. All the medico-sanitary institutions will be supplied with the necessary medicaments and consumables. The state-owned pharmaceutical institutions will work according to the ordinary programme. The National Blood Transfusion Centre will provide the medico-sanitary institutions with blood reserves and blood components if need be.
