Head of state should be dismissed, experts

The head of state will have to be dismissed if he does not nominate the candidate for premiership proposed by the parliamentary majority, said experts invited to the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

Alexandu Cauia, dean of the Faculty of Law of the Moldova Free International University, said the head of state must comply with the Constitution. “Now that a parliamentary majority was formed, the head of state should comply with the Constitution and the decisions of the Constitutional Court. It would be a pity if the President generated that spark that would cause a hardly extinguishable fire,” he stated.

Political analyst Victor Gurau said the head of state will have to be dismissed if he does not comply with the decision of the parliamentary majority.

Corneliu Ciurea, expert of the Institute for Development and Social Initiatives “Viitorul”, considers things will be stirred up. “The temperature will rise. They are trying to employ the model of 1999, while the President wants more powers. As far as I know, all the messages coming from the Western partners urge stability. I didn’t hear official messages from the Russian Federation about the political crisis in our country, but knowing that Renato Usatyi is Moscow’s messenger, we can realize that Russia wants instability in Moldova,” he said.
