The theme of the meeting convoked by president Vladimir Voronin with key figures from the Presidency, Parliament, Government and the Mayoralty of Chisinau was the preparations for the 62nd anniversary since the liberation of Moldova from the fascists occupation and the 15th anniversary since the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Moldova. According to the Press Service of the President, during the meeting were discussed different issues regarding the organization of the commemorative, cultural and artistic activities that will take in the capital and in the country during August 21-29. „The activities dedicated to the liberation of Moldova from the fascist occupation include the organization of several commemorative ceremonies in the memory of the soldiers who died in fights for Moldova liberation at the Memorial Centre „Serpeni Head of Bridge” and „Eternity”. Many guests, officials and veterans from Moldova and abroad will take part in this event” asserted the press release. The actions dedicated to the 15th anniversary from the proclamation of Independence provide the organization of a scientific-practical conference; book exhibitions, shows at the National Theatre of „Mihai Eminescu”, in the „Stefan cal Mare” public park and „The Independence Cup – 2006” National Rally. On August 26 the official assembly and the festive concert dedicated to this date will take place.
