Head of State promises cheaper gas

President Igor Dodon in a meeting with journalists promised that the Moldovans will pay less for Russian gas. He denied the reports that the consumers pay the debts accumulated so far, IPN reports.

Igor Dodon said the people will pay only for how much they consume and they will definitely not pay the debts accumulated by the Transnistrians. It is actually the debt of “Moldovagaz”, which is a business entity, not of the state, while “Gazprom” owns 50% of the shares in “Moldovagaz”.

Igor Dodon noted a solution will be identified to clear the debts to Russia, but the problem of debts for gas accumulated by the consumers from the left bank of the Nistru will not be solved as long as the Transnistrian conflict remains unsettled.
