Minister-delegate for Relations with Romanians Everywhere of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania Angel Talvar reiterated that the Romanian authorities support Moldova in its European integration efforts. The Romanian official, who is in Chisinau on a visit, had a meeting with President Nicolae Timofti, IPN reports.

According to the presidential press service, Angel Talvar told the head of state that the Romanian side is committed to facilitate the academic exchanges and to offer cultural and educational, training and professional formation programs. The minister’s agenda includes the signing of a cooperation protocol between the two ministries of education. A priority is to increase the Romanian book stock of the libraries and to develop and strengthen the Romanian language media outlets in Moldova.

The head of state welcomed the intensification of the bilateral dialogue during the last few years, noting that Romania is the main supporter of Moldova’s European integration course. Nicolae Timofti thanked the Romanian official for the financial and logistic support provided by the official Bucharest for implementing a series of projects to modernize the educational and cultural infrastructure in Moldova.
