President Nicolae Timofti had a meeting with the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Bogdan Aurescu, who paid to Chisinau his first visit abroad after his appointment. At bilateral level, the interlocutors agreed that the Moldovan-Romanian dialogue should be intensified in all the areas, with emphasis being put on social projects, IPN reports, quoting the presidential press service.
The two officials conferred on the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections held in Moldova on November 30 and underlined the importance of forming a pro-European government in the near future. Nicolae Timofti and Bogdan Aurescu agreed that the more insistent implementation of the Association Agreement between Moldova and the EU in the immediate period will bring substantial political, social and economic benefits to Moldova.
In another development, President Nicolae Timofti congratulated Bogdan Aurescu on the occasion of Romania’s National Day marked on December 1.
