Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu will take part in the solemn events that will be staged to celebrate the 1050th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland, at the invitation of his Polish counterpart Marek Kuchciński. The events take place in the Polish town of Poznan, IPN reports.
According to the Parliament’s press service, Andrian Candu will have meetings with the President of Poland Andrzej Duda, Marshal of the Polish Sejm Marek Kuchciński and with the Vice President of the German Bundestag Johannes Singhammer.
Among the main subjects that will be discussed are the implementation of Moldova’s European agenda and strengthening of the relations of cooperation and support between the legislative bodies.
The event has a special meaning in the history of Poland and marks the beginning of the country’s christening and, according to some historians, the beginning of the Polish state.
