Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu is paying a visit to the United Sates between September 28 and October 5, 2016. In Washington, Andrian Candu will take part in the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund and will have bilateral meetings with the administration of the two institutions, IPN reports.

The Speaker will also have a series of discussions at the United States Congress, Department of State, Atlantic Council, German Fund Marshall and the Organization “Freedom House”. Among the main subjects for discussion will be the developments in the country and the region, the European agenda of Moldova, the implementation level of the Association Agreement with the EU and the stimulation of the Moldova – U.S. partnership relations.

Together with the Embassy of Moldova in the United States, Andrian Candu will hold a reception on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the declaration of Moldova’s independence. The event will take place at the Library of Congress on September 29 and is expected to involve over 200 political figures from the U.S. and representatives of the Moldovan diaspora.
