Speaker Igor Corman will be paying a working visit to the United States and Canada in the period between February 24 and March 1, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from Parliament, Igor Corman will take part in the opening of a public platform for dialogue and communication, which is aimed at extending and strengthening the relations established between the U.S. and Moldova. In the event, he will deliver a speech that will center on the country’s European course and the process of modernizing Moldova.
Igor Corman will also take part in an event staged by the Friends of Moldova Group in the U.S. Congress “Congressional Moldova Caucus”, themed “The Republic of Moldova post-Vilnius. Path to follow”.
Afterward, the Speaker will go to Ottawa and Montreal in Canada. It will be the fist visit at parliamentary level to this country. On this occasion, between February 27 and March 1, Igor Corman will meet with a number of Canadian officials to discuss the bilateral parliamentary cooperation.
The Moldovan official will also meet with Moldovans settled in Ottawa and Montreal and will discuss with them methods by which they can support the modernization of Moldova.
