Head of OSCE Mission meets with Prosecutor General
The importance of respecting the human rights in the context of the police abuses during the April events was the subject for discussion at a meeting between Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubko and the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Philip Remler held at the Prosecutor General's Office (PG) on Tuesday, Info-prim Neo has learned from the PG's press unit.
Valeriu Zubko told Philip Remler that the reformation of the institution by creating such prosecutor's self-administration bodies as the Superior Council of Prosecutors, the Qualification Board and the Disciplinary Board is one of the PG's goals that is to be achieved by the end of November. Among other priorities, Zubko mentioned the solving of the personnel problem, strengthening of the existent subdivisions and intensification of the professional training of the prosecutors.
Philip Remler highlighted the necessity of establishing a normal climate in the society and observing the human rights and European values.
The two officials also discussed the possibility of developing the cooperation and are to agree technical details for initiating assistance programs and other forms of cooperation.
