Svetlana Chifa left the post of head of the Child Rights Protection Division of Chisinau municipality. In the February 29 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and subdivisions, Chifa said she took such a decision of her own free will, but didn’t specify the reasons, IPN reports.

Svetlana Chifa noted she quitted not on age or health grounds, but because she often had to tilt at windmills. The attitude of some persons towards her sometimes affected the work of the City Hall, Mayor Dorin Chritoaca and of the Division’s team.

She said that she leaves reconciled as what was done in the area of child rights protection in the municipality of Chisinau was appreciated both by national and foreign experts.

Chifa thanked all those with whom she cooperated, including the Division’s employees, the mayor and deputy mayors, the journalists and all the municipal councilors.

Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said that Svetlana Chifa, who had held this post for 16 years, left it valiantly and proudly.
