Head and engineer of privatized dwelling owners association arrested for corruption

Two women who worked as head and, respectively, engineer of a privatized dwelling owners association were arrested after they asked and took 1,000 lei from a man who was sentenced to 120 hours of community service for issuing him with a certificate showing that he served his sentence.

According to a communiqué from the National Anticorruption Center, the money was found on the women – 400 lei in the wallet of the head and 600 lei in the wallet of the engineer, IPN reports.

The women face a fine of 20,000 to 60,000 lei or imprisonment of two to seven years. They will be also banned for holding particular posts and performing particular activities for two to five years. The women are investigated on the outside.
