The Municipal Library “B.P. Hasdeu” promotes and encourages reading as a means of cultural and creative development through the program “Chisinau Reads”. The program is aimed at putting to good use the reading experience of Chisinau residents and at orienting the readers to the national literary and artistic values, IPN reports.
The Library’s director Mariana Harjevski told a news conference that they invite writers, literary critics and librarians to help the choose the books for the program “Chisinau Reads”. Emphasis is placed on the educative message and editorial aspect of books written by Moldovan writers.
The books proposed for reading within “Chisinau Reads” this year are: “Black and Red 1930-2056” by Val Butnaru, “Orange Tunic” by Lucretia Barladeanu and Ianos Turcanu’s book “Flower Dance”. “Be curious and read these books,” Mariana Harjevski urged those attending the event.
“Chisinau Reads” is an initiative of the Municipal Library “B.P. Hasdeu” that reached its 14th edition.
