Greetings, icons, painted eggs, ceramic rabbits and other handicrafts centering on Easter themes made by children and young people of community centers of Chisinau were exhibited in the Parliament’s hall on April 9. MPs and functionaries of the Parliament’s Secretariat purchased presents for their close people and relatives, IPN reports.
Head of Parliament Andrian Candu said that by this exhibition, the children brought the light of the Easter holidays to Parliament. This event, which showcases the skillfulness and talents of the children, will inspire and give an additional stimulus to those who work in the legislature.
Present at the exhibit, the Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and all Moldova Vladimir said the people during the last week of Great Lent make the last preparations for Easter and the children who made these objects related to Easter announce the coming of the great feast. He called on the Christians to pray more during the Hoy Week. “The faithful spent 40 days in prayers and fasted, but this week the prayers and fasting double in volume,” stated His Holiness Vladimir.
The children who displayed their works at the exhibition said they worked a lot on each object and voiced the MPs will appreciate them. After the lawmakers purchased handicrafts, the children went on a guided tour of the Parliament Building and attended the plenary sitting.
