Hall of Chisinau Tennis School fully renovated

The playing hall of the Chisinau Tennis School has been fully renovated after 42 years of the school’s foundation. There were set up two tennis courts that meet the international standards. The repair works were carried out with financial support from the Ministry of Youth and Sport, which allocated almost 3 million lei, while US$20,000 lei was provided by the International Tennis Federation, IPN reports.

The repair works started last December 2016 and were completed at the end of this January, before the start of the international tournament ITF Juniors “Moldova Open 2017” (previously “D. Sturdza” Trophy). The competition, which is held in Moldova for the 17th time, will bring together over 120 athletes from 21 countries and is staged with the financial assistance of the Ministry of Youth and Sport.

The Chisinau Tennis School is an extra-school education institution. Students are enrolled starting from the age of seven based on applications from parents. The training year starts on January 1, as at other sports schools.
