Half of foreigners who violated regime of stay in Moldova are Russians

As many as 593 foreign citizens who didn’t respect Moldova’s legislation have been identified by the border police at border crossing points so far this year. They stayed longer than allowed in Moldova. Of them, 286 are citizens of Russia, IPN reports.

According to the Border Police, 458 of these foreigners were identified at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border crossing points, 21 – at the Moldovan-Romanian border, while 114 – at the Chisinau Airport Border Police Sector.

Among the foreigners who most often ignored their obligations and responsibilities on Moldova’s territory are Russians (286), Ukrainians (195), Belarusians (13), Uzbeks (11), Romanians (10), Azerbaijanis (9) as well as Turks, Kazakhstanis, Israelis and Armenians.

The Border Police said the number of foreigners who violate the regime of stay in Moldova has decreased compared with the corresponding period last year. In the first seven months of 2013, there were recorded 995 such violations.

The foreigners can stay in Moldova for 90 days within six months. After the period of 90 days expires, the foreigners are obliged to leave Moldova, but can return again in six months of the first entry.
