The chief police commissioner of Chisinau Iacob Gumenita was discharged from the post by order of the current minister of the interior. On Tuesday, October 6, Victor Catan told the reporters that he signed the order on September 28 (when he participated in the ordinary meeting of the Chisinau City Hall on his own initiative – e.n.), Info-Prim Neo reports. The minister said the decision is aimed at bringing the conflict between the local authorities and the police to an end. Currently, Iacob Gumenita is on leave. He will be dismissed immediately after he returns from leave, Catan said.
