Guidebook published for local officials with good practices in public administration

As a result of several trainings for local elected officials, organized by the National Center of NGOs Assistance and Information “Contact”, the Guide of Local Elected Officials “100 Q&A for better government in Moldova” was published, Info-Prim Neo reports. The guide is written in Q&A format and offers information about the procedures of founding and functioning of local councils, the principles, domains, competences and duties of local public administration. It also contains information about ways to ensure administrative transparency, about the management of local public finances and public and private heritage of first level territorial-administrative units, and guidelines about creating and providing local public services, etc. Besides theoretical materials, the work presents several case studies in relevant domains of local administration work. Local elected officials can also use the annexes with cognitive and applicative material. The author of the guide is Vasile Cioaric, project coordinator at Contact Center. He was assisted by Nelea Cazacu and Vladimir Bogdan, workers of the State Chancellery territorial offices. The 150 pages Guide of Local Elected Officials was released in 800 copies and distributed in 25 localities as part of the project “Monitoring elections and voters education in Moldova – strengthening capacities and developing international networks”. The project is implemented by Contact Center within the Civic Coalition for Free and Fair Elections with the financial support of the EU Delegation in Moldova.
