The parents can find out answers to a number of questions concerning the organization of the process of study and care in early education institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic from a guidebook worked out with the assistance of UNICEF Moldova, IPN reports.
The guidebook authors recommend the parents to inform themselves beforehand about the work program of the kindergarten or group of their child from the administration of the institution, educator or medical assistant as this can be different, depending on the local pandemic situation.
The parents are suggested to wake up the child every morning at the same hour. Before going to the kindergarten, the parents must examine the personal and the child’s state of health and should self-isolate at home in case of such disease symptoms as fever higher than 37 degrees Celsius, headache, muscle pain, vomiting, coughing, somnolence and blue lips and face and must inform the family doctor and the kindergarten about this.
The non-declaring of the child’s infection with COVID-19 or contact with persons diagnosed with COVID-19 is liable to punishment.
The child who goes to the kindergarten should be provided with a mini-kit consisting of small wet wipes, dry wipes, disinfectant for hands (intended for children) and a bottle of water. The child is allowed to enter the kindergarten only after having the body temperature measured (must be lower than 37˚C) and after having their hands disinfected. The children should stay at the kindergarten for not more than 5-7 hours so as to minimize the risks of infection with COVID-19.
The parents should know and accept that access to the precincts of the kindergarten during the COVID-19 pandemic is banned.
The guidebook is in Romania and Russian and was designed with the involvement of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, the World Health Organization to Moldova, the National Center on Early Education and Family Information, with the assistance of UNICEF Moldova and with financial support from USAID Moldova.
