The children’s beloved literary character Guguta will have a monument and will meet his friends in a park that will bear his name, which will be opened in the first quarter of 2013, according to the plan of actions dedicated to the Year of Spiridon Vangheli, approved by the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports. Some of the most important actions in the plan include: publishing the works of Spiridon Vangheli, staging the play “Guguta’s star”, and opening the campus for gifted children “Spiridon Vangheli”. Other events that will be organized are the International Theater Festival “Guguta’s hat”, the International Book Salon dedicated to writer Spiridon Vangheli and the international colloquium “Modern philology: achievements and prospects in the European context” under the headline “Spiridon Vangheli: writer of the universal child”. The list of actions also includes the issuance of an anniversary coin and of post stamps with his image, as well as the organization of an anniversary evening dedicated to the author. 2013 was declared the Year of Spiridon Vangheli to celebrate the author's 80th anniversary.
