A group of people of culture call on the Moldova citizens to support the representatives of the Political Party Union-Democracy at Home in the parliamentary elections of February 24. In a news conference at IPN, film directors, poets and people of arts said the team of the Party Union-Democracy at Home is the best one and is prepared to make the reunion with Romania.
Ștefan Sofronovici, researcher of the Institute of Romanian Philology “Bogdan Petriceicu-Hasdeu” of Chisinau, said the team of the Party Union-Democracy at Home is represented by a group of young unionists who are sincere, courageous, are not blackmailable and are not discredited. He became disappointed in the old unionist leaders and now has a team of new leaders in front of him, whom he recommends. “We lost confidence in the politicians and have no other solutions than the reintegration of the Romanian nation and our return home,” stated Ștefan Sofronovici.
The head of the Cultural-Orthodox Association “Poduri de Dor” Diana Zlatan-Ciugureanu said that in this campaign she supports the Political Party Union-Democracy at Home as she has the duty to contribute to the political reunification of Moldova with Romania. “I identify myself with this team of young enthusiasts who are faithful, honest and who already implemented numerous pragmatic projects designed to bring the two banks of the Prut closer,” stated Diana Zlatan-Ciugureanu.
Producer and director of the National Theater “Eugen Ionesco” Petru Vutcărăru said the artistic and technical teams of the institution he heads, who in the centenary year signed the symbolical statement on the reunification of the Romanian nation, will vote the Party Union-Democracy at Home. “We cannot be indifferent to the disastrous economic and especially political and spiritual situation created in the Republic of Moldova in time. Only being together with the motherland, we have the chance and serious potential to fulfil our dream to live better,” stated Petru Vutcărăru.
Doctor of Arts Studies of the Cultural Heritage Institute Vasile Chiseliță said the only chance to reach welfare and economic safety is to reunify the Romanian space of which Bessarabia, the current Republic of Moldova, formed part historically. “I fully trust the team of candidates of the Party Union-Democracy at Home that will conduct this struggle so as to bring the Constitution in concordance with reality,” noted Vasile Chiseliță.
Vice president of the Association of American Republic Romanians Călin Cucuietu, of the branch for Romania and the Republic of Moldova, stated that only the peaceful union of the two Romanian states, the Republic of Moldova and Romania, can solve the security and economic problems of this land. “I think the Moldovan citizens by their unionist option can choose a young force with concrete solutions and can immediately resolve these problems,” said Călin Cucuietu.
The leader of the Political Party Union-Democracy at Home Vasile Costiuc said Moldovan politics lacked moral benchmarks and moral people at the forefront that would serve as a model and would be followed. “It would be a political hazard to speak about salaries, what we can promise, what we can propose and will do in the next Parliament, knowing very well that we do not have where to collect money into the budget from. What we suggest is to eliminate the border on the Prut and then the promises made by politicians in the election campaign will come true by themselves,” stated Vasile Costiuc.
The Political Party Union-Democracy at Home is under No. 11 on the ballot in the national constituency. In uninominal constituency No. 35 Căușeni, the party is represented by folk music singer Zinaida Bolboceanu.
